Cottage Kennel: A Hotel Exclusively for Animals

Facts & Questions

How far in advance do I have to make a reservation?
In general, we recommend that all reservations be made 2 weeks in advance. For holidays, we recommend 8 weeks in advance to ensure availability.

How late are you open?
Our normal hours of operation are 9 am - 1 pm and 3 pm - 5 pm Monday thru Friday, Saturdays 9 am - 1 pm and Sundays 3 pm - 5 pm. Appointments can be scheduled for service outside of our normal hours of operation.

What vaccinations will my pet need?
All dogs need to be current on the rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP vaccinations. Feline guests need to be current on the rabies and FVRCP vaccinations.

Can you administer my pet's medication while they are staying with you?
As part of our standard care package, almost all medication can be administered by our trained staff. Medications given more than once a day will be charged an additional fee.

Do we have to bring our own bed?
We provide bedding for all our guests. However, if you would like to bring your own bed, you are more than welcome to.

Can I bring my own dog food?
Although we provide food in our standard care package, as a full service hotel we can feed your pet food from home at no extra charge.

How many times a day does my dog get out? Does my dog get to play with other dogs?
We offer two playgroups (of approx. 1/2 hour each) in our standard care package. However, times will vary depending on the number of guests and size of playgroup.

How do you determine which dogs will do well together in playgroup?
Our playgroups are determined by a dog's individual needs and personality. Most often the important factors are age, size, weight, temperament and play-style, which we assess through your pet's profile and ongoing observation.

What if my dog doesn't like other dogs?
We find that most of our guests play with others, however if your dog shows unfriendly behavior towards other dogs, they will not be able to participate in playgroups. To accommodate these guests, we offer individual play.

Can I bring my dog's favorite toy for playgroup?
You may bring your dog's favorite toy although it must remain in his/her room, as we do not allow toys in playgroup.
